Hi everyone! In this installation we are going to discuss how to install a safety Grab Bar without having any wall studs. One thing is for sure, you don’t want a Grab Bar pulling away from the wall. This can throw a senior off balance and cause a fall…So let’s get it right the first time, ok!
Grab Bars have to be placed, where a senior needs them. Not where the walls studs happen to be. Make sure that the senior is able to show you where him of her are grabbing. What good are grab bars if you can’t reach them?
The standard height and recommendations might not be the best place to install, so go through a trial run with the senior to decide on the best location. Make a list of what you need to do the job. Use tape and a level to mark the right height and position of the Grab Bar. Like the old saying, “pictures are worth a thousand words.”
Down below, is a very good video explaining how to work with “WingIts,” fasteners. This lady knows her stuff and does not leave you guessing on how to use this product.
